MICHAEL AMACIO

Michael Amacio is a live sound engineer, production manager and composer. His interest in audio engineering began as a studio assistant to Blondie’s keyboardist, Jimmy Destri. As his practice later deepened between NYC venues like Output and MoMA PS1, this led into touring with artists such as The Magnetic Fields and Sevdaliza. As audio supervisor for Quo Vadis Productions, he ensured high-quality sound for events featuring artists like Alessandro Cortini, Hiro Kone, and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe.

Michael also works as a personal sound engineer for photographer Richard Mosse, tuning audio for his multi-channel installations as they come. In 2022, he was Production Manager for Sam Green’s immersive live documentary 32 Sounds and has toured with The Philip Glass Ensemble since 2021 in the same role. His compositions explore sound documentation techniques using various microphones and spatial formations, first performed at Fridman Gallery and later expanded upon through research in Yucatán, MX.
